Message :I have the stillen panel and i cut out the slits...no problems whatsoever and i live in louisiana where it rains all the time. I dont get where yu all say that it wont help with cooling. It directs air straight into the radiator....so of course its gonna help with cooling, and i havnt had any issues with stalling either

and you'll understand why the vents will not make any effect. To put it in perspective... let's say your wife is a terrible cook and she just finished making you meatleaf. But, since she's a terrible cook, she burnt it to a crisp so the house is filled with smoke. You open 1 window in your house to vent out the smoke. What happens? Not much, other than the smoke swirls around. If you open another window on the other side of the room, the smoke begins to filter out. Differences in wind velocity produce a pressure differential , resulting in air flowing from the area of higher pressure to lower pressure.

Back to cars... basically the vents will cause more turbulence in that region. If you want to increase your cooling, install vents in the hood. Tests show that air movement is faster/improved by not increasing the incoming air flow (or inlet size) but by increasing the outlet source to allow the hot air (higher pressure) to be forced out.
